| Running With Scissors is a true story about a boy who is separated from his family and forced to live with his mother's psychiatrist. His mother, doped up on pills, pursues her poetry career while his dad, an alcoholic, refuses his phone calls. Alone, he is faced with a crazy family and all their eccentricities. He skips school and decides to learn about life in his own way. Living in a mansion full of strange people, the boy goes through a number of interesting personal trials, including having an affair with a 35 year old man (he is 15). In the end, he finds he has a knack for writing, similar to his mother, and publishes a book about his experiences. |
