| Plot |
| Miranda (Evan Rachel Wood) is a young woman who has been abandoned by her mother, and her father Charlie (Michael Douglas) is in a mental institution. Working at McDonald's Miranda has managed to make a fairly comfortable situation out of what life has dealt her. However, when her father is released from the mental institution and returns to live with her, he is obsessed with lost treasure. He is so obsessed that he keeps books and a metal detector and becomes certain that the lost treasure of Father Juan Florismarte Garces is buried under the local Costco. Though Miranda's situation is thrown into a much more chaotic state by her father, she eventually joins in his hunt and all the oddities that go along with it. |
