| Plot |
| As a young man, the artist Thomas Kinkade (Jared Padalecki) comes home for Christmas, only to find that his hometown is declining due to financial problems. The townspeople had hoped for the place to become popular with tourists, but this has not happened. As a result, his mother (Marcia Gay Harden) has fallen on hard times and her family home might suffer a foreclosure. Thom’s mentor, Glen (Peter O’Toole), inspires him to create a mural which depicts his hometown. It is this mural that causes Thom to become known as a Painter of Light. But the mural serves an additional purpose: it helps the citizens to recover their holiday spirit. |
