| Plot |
| The Final Inquiry (2006) is a Biblical epic. The Roman emperor Tiberius (Max von Sidow) experiences a crisis of faith: Did Jesus of Nazareth actually rise from the grave? Tiberius sends out an envoy (Daniele Liotti) to investigate the death of Jesus determine the truth of resurrection story; the envoy had been exiled for looking too deep in the past. However, he is a skeptic in this case. Pontius Pilate (Hristo Shopov) tries to keep him a skeptic, since if it were widely known that Jesus had ascended, it would be catastrophic for the Roman empire. The envoy at first is unmoved, and finds the possibility of resurrection implausible, but he falls in love with Tabitha (Monica Cruz), and through her he finds his faith. |
