| Plot |
| Mary Haines (Meg Ryan) has abandoned her career in fashion design to marry a wealthy businessman. Mary’s mom is very supportive of her. Mary’s closest pals are Edie Cohen (Debra Messing), who is pregnant a lot and stays home with her family; Sylvia Fowler (Annette Bening), who is very tough and edits a magazine; and a lesbian writer called Alex Fisher (Jada Pinkett Smith), who stands up for repressed people. A manicurist who gossips a lot tells the women that Mary’s spouse is cheating on her with Crystal Allen (Eva Mendes), who works in a department store. Mary must deal with the betrayal. |
