| Plot |
| John (Brendan Fraser) and Aileen Crowley (Keri Russell) discover something terrible - their 2 children both have Pompe disease, a rare disease that will kill them both before they reach the age of 10. Desperate to save their children, John finds Robert Stonehill (Harrison Ford), a researcher who has a theory about a possible treatment for this terrible disease. Robert has little to no funding, and has a hard time working with others thanks to his unpleasant personality. John begins trying to help raise money for Robert's research, and the task eventually takes over John's entire life. With Robert's challenging personality also getting in the way, it's looking less likely that a cure will be found in time. |
