| Plot |
| Undercover cop Sascha Petrosevitch (Steven Seagal) goes inside "The New Alcatraz" to find out who killed his wife. Inside he learns of a plot involving 200 million dollars in gold, with prison-hardened Nick Frazier (Ja Rule) at the center. Life inside the concrete walls is at first tough for Sascha, but his keen martial arts skills pull him through, and impress his fellow inmates. A death-row inmate's execution is halted by an armed group of terrorists, who seek the location of the missing gold. In the process of their take-over, the warden and a judge are taken hostage by the group's leader (Morris Chestnut), and Petrosevitch must then fight a battle on two fronts, with Frazier by his side. |
